Today's Stoic Thought
“It’s not that we have little time, but more that we waste a good deal of it.”Seneca
In modern life, we often find ourselves scrolling through social media or watching TV for hours, unintentionally wasting precious time that could be spent on productive tasks or meaningful activities. For example, instead of mindlessly browsing the internet for hours after work, we could use that time to exercise, read a book, or work on a personal project that brings us fulfillment. By recognizing and minimizing these time-wasting habits, we can make better use of our limited time and live more intentionally.
Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil.
The Bible verse encourages us to be wise and make the best use of our time because the days are evil. This aligns with the Stoic idea of avoiding wasting time and being intentional with our actions, reflecting the pillar of Wisdom.
