“Happiness is not to acquire and enjoy, but nothing to be desired, as it is to be free.”
Epictetus

In modern life, we often chase after material possessions and achievements thinking they will bring us happiness. However, true happiness comes from within and is found in our freedom from external influences. For example, instead of constantly seeking validation from others on social media, finding joy in being authentically yourself and not letting others' opinions control your sense of happiness is true freedom.

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Galatians 5:1 ESV

Galatians 5:1 encourages believers to stand firm in their freedom and not be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. This aligns with the Stoic idea that true happiness comes from within and being free from external desires or influences.
