“We must indulge the mind and from time to time allow it the leisure which is its food and strength. We must go for walks out of doors, so that the mind can be strengthened by a clear sky and plenty of fresh air.”Seneca
In our modern world filled with screens and constant stimulation, taking time to disconnect and go for a walk can provide the mental nourishment we need. Stepping outside, breathing in fresh air, and enjoying nature can rejuvenate our mind and help us regain focus and clarity in our thoughts.
He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
Temperance calls us to practice moderation and self-control, including in our consumption of external stimuli. By intentionally taking breaks to clear our minds and immerse ourselves in the beauty of nature, we can cultivate inner peace and mental strength. Connecting with God's creation, as in Psalm 23:2-3, can renew our spirits and help us maintain balance in our lives.
